Another homecoming celebration, another exciting week of UMass Lowell sporting events. Starting on Friday, September 30th, UMass Lowell is showing off their athletic prowess for the whole week, ending on Saturday, October 8th. The River Hawks are playing against different universities throughout this week so make sure to show your UMass Lowell pride and support for the home team with some school spirit.
The UMass Lowell field hockey team is kicking off this homecoming week by facing off against the University of Maine on Friday, September 30th. Head to the Wicked Blue Field, Cushing Fields Complex to cheer on the team from 3 PM to 5 PM with free entry.
On Saturday, October 1st, a jam-packed day of UMass Lowell games and activities are open to the public. Join the women’s basketball team for an exciting open practice at the Costello Athletic Center from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. Cheer them on as they get ready for their upcoming season and show full support for UMass Lowell.
At 11 AM to 1 PM, the women’s club soccer team plays against Tufts University at the Campus Recreation Complex. Then at 10 AM, the UMass Lowell softball team is playing against Southern New Hampshire. Don’t forget to stay around after the first game because the softball team is playing a doubleheader. With free entry and public accessibility head over to the Riverview Field to show them some pride.
The men’s club rugby team faces off against the University of Vermont starting at 3 PM and ending at 5PM, an event that is free and open to the public.
At the Tsongas Center at 6 PM, the prominent men’s ice hockey team fights on the ice against St. Lawrence University for a great opener to their highly anticipated season with ticket prices being $12 per person and free entry for UMass Lowell students. The next day on Sunday, October 2nd, the women’s club hockey team is playing at the Tsongas Center against a team that is to be determined at a later date, open and free to the public.
On Wednesday, October 5th, join the men’s soccer team as they face the University of Hartford at 4 PM at Cushing Field on North Campus. Two days later, the all-star Riverhawk ice hockey team will face off against Miami University, Ohio on Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th. Tickets can be bought at the Tsongas Center box office the day of and once again free entry for UMass Lowell students.
On that Friday, ACE will be hosting a River Hawk Rally from 4 PM to 6 PM on the CRC front turf to get students pumped up for the ensuing hockey game. There you can get ready with your fellow River Hawks with mechanical bull riding and inflatable jousting; foam fingers, airbrush pennants, wings, waffle fries and cotton candy will also be provided.
This upcoming River Hawk 2022 Homecoming is expected to be an action-packed week with all sorts of different athletic events for sports enthusiasts or casual fans. From field hockey to soccer, cheer on UMass Lowell players and let’s show the other schools what it’s really like to be a River Hawk.
