UMass Lowell selected fourth in Hockey East preseason poll

The UMass Lowell ice hockey team was selected fourth in the Hockey East coaches’ poll Monday morning. The team received 92 total points and zero first-place votes.

Boston College topped the list with 115 points and 7 of 12 first-place votes, while NCAA runner-up and defending Hockey East Champion Boston University and NCAA Champion Providence rounded out the top three with, 107 and 95 total points with a three-to-two split of the remaining first-place votes, respectively.

Following UMass Lowell are Northeastern (76), New Hampshire (74), Notre Dame (72), Vermont (57), UConn (34), Maine (29), Merrimack (27) and Massachusetts (14).

UMass Lowell finished the regular season fourth in Hockey East and advanced to the Hockey East Tournament Final to last season.
