The UMass Lowell hockey team announced its 2015-16 schedule Monday afternoon, which begins Friday, Oct. 9 with a non-conference matchup against Rensselaer at 7:15 p.m. at the Tsongas Center.

Other non-conference opponents include Colorado College, Minnesota-Duluth, Arizona State, American International and UMass (Feb. 19).

The River Hawks open Hockey East play with a home-and-home series against Merrimack College on Oct. 23 and 24. The team will also host defending NCAA Champions Providence College on Jan. 23 and defending Hockey East Champions and NCAA runners-up Boston University on Feb. 13.

The River Hawks will compete in two in-season tournaments this year, the Friendship Four in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Nov. 27 and 28 and the Three River Classic in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Dec. 28 and 29.

The team will conclude the regular season with a home-and-home series against conference rival Boston College on Feb. 26 and 27.

The first round of the Hockey East Tournament will take place from March 4-6, followed by the quarterfinals from March 11-13. The championship round will be played on March 18 and 19 at Boston’s TD Garden.
