Fans of the Mario franchise are eager for Nintendo’s film adaptation of its classic video game, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” The film is set to premiere in theaters on April 7, 2023. For this project, Nintendo has partnered with Illumination, an animation company known for its famous works such as “Despicable Me” and “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch.” The official “Super Mario Bros.” trailer shows the film’s main antagonist, Bowser, voiced by Jack Black, plotting his global takeover when he suddenly reveals that there is only one person standing in his way—Mario (Chris Pratt). With the help of his pals Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Luigi (Charlie Day) and the rest of the original Mario Bros. gang, Mario sets off on an adventure, determined to put an end to Bowser’s evil plans. Nintendo fans will be delighted to see several nostalgic video game references throughout the film, including scenes depicting Mario Kart’s famous Rainbow Road.

After many years of filming, the highly anticipated Disney live-action take on the original “The Little Mermaid” can be expected to release in theaters on May 26, 2023. The beloved fairy tale about one redheaded mermaid’s dream to experience life on the shore has been around for over three decades. Finally, Disney fans will be able to experience the magic of “The Little Mermaid” adapted into a live version with a musical take. The incredibly talented Halle Bailey will be taking on the role of Ariel, as she is seen in the teaser trailer singing the famous “A Part of Your World” song coined in the first “The Little Mermaid” film. Other Hollywood names featured in this live-action film include Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric.

Coming in hot this summer, award-winning director Greta Gerwig will be merging reality with the superficial in the upcoming film “Barbie.” Margot Robbie (Barbie) and Ryan Gosling (Ken)—two of Hollywood’s biggest personalitieswill be bringing the Barbie doll universe to life on July 21, 2023. The film’s teaser trailer features a group of little girls who ruthlessly destroy their baby dolls after the arrival of the tall, shiny and new Barbie doll. By using the theme song from the 1968 film “2001: A Space Odyssey,” Gerwig channels a similar comedic energy that is meant to come across in this film. Set in the fictional “Barbieland,” the film is expected to tell the story of Barbie finding her way in society after being kicked out of her dream world for being less than perfect.
